2006
student of the year, Jayne received her Musical Theatre Diploma while
studying
at Westside. She took part in both the North London Dance Studio and
Collin’s
Performing Arts Scholarship Programme’s awarded by Westside. In 2004
Jayne made
her acting debut after being sent by Westside to an audition where she
was cast
as the main character in the Den2 series ‘The Attic’. She then had the
opportunity to act in award winning short films (‘Fluent Dysphasia’ and
‘The
Sound of People’) and the TG4 series ‘Paddy Whackery’ as well as small
or extra
roles in several other television drama’s and feature films. While at
University Jayne performed with the British Shakespeare Company in ‘A
Midsummer’s Nights Dream’ on the Dublin and Manchester leg of its
European tour
and had the opportunity to choreograph, direct and musical direct
theatre works
including one which enjoyed a three week run at the Edinburgh Fringe
Festival
in 2010. Jayne is now a member of the Westside teaching faculty.

David O’Reilly:
David
was a student at Westside Stage School for four years. It was during
this time
that he sat his Irish Board of Speech and Drama exams. He also travelled
to
London on two occasions with Westside to take part in week long musical
theatre
summer course at Pineapple Studio’s. While at WSS David took part in two
Helix
productions, Acting Up (2004) and Ozmopolitan (2006), in which he played
the
cowardly Lion. Following his time at Westside David travelled to the UK
to
study a three year full time diploma course at Collins Performing Arts
Studios.
After completing his three years, David graduated and was awarded the
prestigious Stephen Mears Musical Theatre Award and Company Member
Award. David
is now playing the character of Roger in the West End production of
Grease in
the Picadilly Theatre, London.
‘Westside
provided me with the highest quality of training available to any young
teenager or child. They gave me opportunities, inspiration and an
extremely
high standard of training all set within a professional and fun
environment,
with tutors who actively still work in the industry. This has kept WSS
very
much with its finger on the pulse of the Musical Theatre, Performing
Arts and
Commercial Industry out there. WSS provided me with the knowledge and
experience to go and train further in London and with their support I am
now
playing my dream role’

Sarah O’Connor:
A
student of Westside for many years, Sarah was selected to take part in
both the
North London Dance Studio’s and the Collins Performing Arts scholarship
programme run by Westside. Sarah proceeded to study performing arts full
time
after school and is now in her final year at Collins Performing Arts,
Essex.
Last year Sarah took part in the RTÉ programme ‘Fame the Musical’,
progressing
far into the competition and finally getting a runner up position.
Following
the success of this programme, Sarah went on to have the lead role in
the 2010
Belfast Pantomime. In 2011, Sarah landed a lead role in Mama Mia in London's West-End.
. Laura Mc Donagh:
Laura
was a student of Westside since its opening in 1998. After finishing her
studies in Dublin, Laura attended North London Dance Studio where she trained for
two years in musical theatre and performance. Laura then travelled to New York,
where she took part in a six month internship programme at the prestigious
Broadway Dance Centre. Laura has choreographed works performed in London, New
York and Dublin, including the Noise Dance Festival, as well as choreographing
a movement piece for an animated television advert (Road Safety Authority). As
a performer she has worked on music videos, television specials and stage
productions as well as part of cabaret shows. Laura is now working as a teacher
and choreographer in Dublin, preparing for performances in the coming months.
Laura continues to train herself also, attending classes and workshops both in
Dublin and London.
"Growing up at Westside has left me with tonnes of happy memories and
friends. A combination of opportunities, inspiration and guidance from my
teachers at WSS lead me to pursue a career in performing arts. My biggest
thanks to the mentor and friend I found in Elizabeth Ennis"

Lynn Redmond:
Lynn, a student of
Westside for many years received the 2004 student of the year award and
performed lead roles in many Westside shows. After finishing school Lynn began
her full time performing arts training at the College of Dance, Monkstown.
During this time Lynn took part in the Westside Scholarship Programme to North
London Dance Studios where she subsequently went on to study full time for two
years. Shortly after graduating from North London Lynn began working as a
performer on one of the acclaimed Costa Cruise ships. She continues to work with
Costa as a singer and dancer, having the opportunity to travel and explore the
Caribbean, Mediterranean and South America regions as part of her profession.
Lynn is also a freelance dance teacher and has worked with many schools in
producing variety shows for friends and family.

Westside was a great experience and one I will never forget. Without the encouragement
and opportunities that Westside provided I would not be where I am today,
enjoying my career as a professional singer and dancer’

Kelly-Marie Ní Cheallaigh:
‘All my training with WSS
has helped me progress and succeed in my work. Everything I know, I learned
from them!’

Joseph O’Reilly:
Joseph joined Westside at
the age of eleven and spent six years training with the school. During this
time he took both LCM and ISBD Drama examinations as well as having the
opportunity to do extra work in feature films and television specials.
Furthermore he performed as a dancer on Den2’s ‘The Big Little Music Show’. As
a student of the stage school and later as part of the Company (Westside’s
group of its most senior students), Joseph performed in numerous showcases,
Dance Work workshops and two of the Helix shows. Joseph was the first male
student to be awarded the Westside Stage School ‘Student of the Year’ award. Joseph
is currently training at Collins Performing Arts Studios in Essex.

Rebecca Daly:
Rebecca
is currently in the second year of a B.A. in Voice and Dance at the University of
Limerick, majoring in Dance. Rebecca took part in the Westside Scholarship
programme to Collins Performing Arts in 2007 and was for many years a key
member of the stage school before progressing on to the Westside Company. Most
recently, Rebecca has performed live on RTE on the GAA All Stars and will be
touring with the Irish Chamber Orchestra this coming March. Rebecca is also
choreographing a contemporary piece for this year’s dance intervarsity’s and is
also choreographing a hip-hop piece for an upcoming charity event.

be doing if it wasn't for the opportunities and the support I got from
Westside, I feel so lucky to have been part of such an amazing school'

Sarah Carpenter:
While
studying dance at Sallynoggin, Sarah joined Westside Stage School.
Shortly
afterwards Sarah took part in the scholarship programme to North London
Dance
Studio’s. Sarah received her LCM diploma in performance while at
Westside.
Sarah studied dance at Sallynoggin College before travelling to
Australia for
one year, where she taught musical theatre. Since returning Sarah has
been
working in Dublin and its surrounding areas, teaching dance, singing,
musical
theatre. Sarah has played lead roles in both the 2008 and 2010 Westside
Helix
shows and continues to train with the company. Sarah has recently
finished playing a lead role in the new musical ‘Whiskey in the Jar’ in
Dublin.

Jody Ennis:
As
a student of Westside Stage School since the age of eight, Jody has played a
leading role in both the 2008 and the 2010 Helix shows. Jody took part in both
the North London and the Collins’s scholarship programme run by Westside as
well a performance workshop at Laine. During her transition year Jody studied
full time in North London Dance Studios. Having completed school, Jody progressed
to London, where she is currently training for a B.A. in performance in London
Studio Centre, where she has been awarded the
Leverhulme bursary. Jody is also
a member of Westside’s teaching faculty.

Hannah Troy:
Starting
in Westside as a tot many years ago, Hannah is now a member of the Westside
Company and is also part of WSS’s teaching faculty. During her time at Westside
Hannah has completed her Irish Board of Speech and Drama exams and is currently
preparing for her Grade 8 LCM musical theatre exam. Hannah is an original
member of WSS’s Swagga Crew and has travelled to three performing arts colleges
(North London Dance Studios, Collins Performing Arts and Bodyworks Cambridge)
as part of Westside Scholarship Programme. As the 2006 student of the year
Hannah played the part of the White Rabbit in the 2010 Helix show. Hannah is
currently studying at Inchicore College of Further Education, to gain her
I.S.T.D modern and ballet teaching qualifications. Furthermore, she has been
offered a place to train at Bodywork, Cambridge this coming September.

has been a huge part of my life. The teachers at Westside have given me the
tools to make it in the performing arts. I've made friends for life and met
tutors that gave me the confidence to do anything’
