Singing at Westside At Westside we strive to make our singing class a fun and pleasurable experience for students of all abilities and standards. We believe that when singing is introduced in this positive way it facilitates an enjoyable learning environment and in turn helps students gain confidence and achieve their full singing potential.
We aim to maximise this potential in every student’s singing voice through improving tone, quality, versatility and range by using the most up-to-date singing methods practiced in the United States and Europe.
At both a conscious and subconscious level we provide students with the technical skills and knowledge to be able to sing an array of vocal styles successfully and with ease so that optimum vocal health is maintained.
This is taught in a safe, fun and supportive environment which encourages students to be able to sing confidently and effectively perform songs across a broad spectrum of singing industry styles such as pop, musical theatre and classical among others.
Not only will students achieve the technical knowledge of singing but they will also learn effective audition technique, expand and develop their song repertoire, learn basic music theory so that they can navigate through a vocal score and also learn the importance of dramatic context and storytelling through song.
Students who display an exceptional talent for singing will be invited to audition for our London College of Music Exam Class *. If successful, they will be offered one of the limited number of places available. Annually each student will progress up through each exam level working towards the Diploma Qualification.
If a student wishes to pursue a career in the performance industry or wishes to sing recreationally you can be assured that at Westside we make certain that we provide all the ingredients to help every student enjoy the process of learning how to sing so that they can do so to the best of their ability.
