RUTH O'Neill, who is set to make a return to Irish screens
as a showbiz reporter for RTE, has revealed that life in Hollywood can be
pretty dull.
"I've no love life, LA is not really a relationship
town, everyone is way too obsessed with their careers," Ruth told the
Diary.
Ruth will update audiences with the latest scandal from
her home in Tinseltown, after bagging a top spot on RTE Two's brand new showbiz
series, Juice.
"I'll be telling the audience about the events I'm
going to and who I'm bumping into as well as reporting the breaking
entertainment news from here," said Ruth, who will be rubbing shoulders
with Simon Cowell at the US X Factor show next weekend.
The 23-year-old packed her bags for the US in April 2010
following her experience on TV3 series Total Xposure.
And thanks to hard work, she has enjoyed some success.
"I'm working as a news assistant in ABC News fulltime
now and I absolutely love it -- it doesn't even feel like work," the model
revealed.
"It's beyond competitive to get into news, let alone
ABC news," said Ruth, who added that she had been "holding out to get
a job like this" for a long time.
"I'm really hoping to get on the team to work for the
Oscars or the Golden Globes -- so much work and preparation goes into those
events and I'd kill to be involved.
"I love the lifestyle here -- it's hard work and
super competitive but also such an exciting place to live in," Ruth
revealed.
"It took a good year to settle in. I was so homesick
for a long time but I stuck it out and now it's great."
